1948

 

Government of Pakistan established 'Airways Training Centre' at Karachi to meet the then training requirements of aviation industry.


1951

 

'Civil Aviation Training Unit' was established at Karachi to provide training to the employees of the then Department of Civil Aviation. CATU used to provide training to technical as well as operations staff of ATS and Technical departments of DCA.

 

1982

 

In order to coup with increasing need of training in aviation disciplines Civil Aviation Training Institute was established at Hyderabad, which comprised of:

 

School of Air Traffic Services and Communication Operations

School of Electronics Engineering

Scholl of Aviation Management and Rescue & Fire Fighting Services

 

1985

 

Inauguration of CATI was made by the then President of Pakistan General Muhammad Zia ul Haq.

 

1986

 

School of Electromechanical Engineering started functioning.

 

1988


ICAO awarded CATI the status of 'Regional Institute'.

 

1990

 

CATI was awarded membership of TRAINAIR

 

1992


Curriculum Development commenced under TRAINAIR Pogramme.
